In memory of David Tubbs
With deepest sympathy and sincere
regrets we're announcing that our friend and SUNSHINE ACTION core-member
passed into heaven at 7:25 a.m., eastern daylight time on April 3, 2011.
He'd suffered a long and debilitating
fight against lymphatic cancer. He was born on Veterans
Day, Nov. 11, 1946, and leaves behind a wife, Maritza, daughters
Julia and Diana, a son Bernardo, 2 grandchildren - Maya and
Ariana, an older brother Charles, his twin brother Paul and his
mother Gertrude
David has been a valuable core-volunteer for
Sunshine Action and contributed in many of our charity programs
to help the needy & poor families.
June 2010, he travelled with our team to
Sichuan, China. It was a long journey that started from Shenzhen to
the capital of Sichuan with three hours flight and then over 9
hours by car to a hidden village.

David is distributing the
Sunshine Action 'Food Blessing
Bags' to the poor children.
These children belong to families with
average annual income of US$1'500 (approx. US$125/month)
Each blessing bag has enough food to feed a
family of 3 members for a week.
During a visit to the poor villages in
Sichuan.
David is teaching English and his students
are completely focused.
Sometimes, we have to walk a long way up a hill to visit these
poor families & children.
Besides our overseas trips, David has visited
the Hong Kong homeless & street sleepers in several
occasions and distributed food & drinks in the darkest nights of
the year, including Christmas Eve on 24-Dec-2009; a night when
everybody else were celebrating, he chose to visit the unloved.
In Hong Kong, he has helped with packing the
Sunshine Action 'Food Blessing Bags'
and then distributing them to many poor and elderly
people during major Festive holidays. The target groups reached
were mainly poorest families and individuals in Hong Kong, from Cancer patients, single
mothers, the elderly who are sick, those with mental and
physical handicaps, as well as children with rare genetic
diseases, and many more.
Each of these programs helps approx. 2'500 -
3'000 poor families/cases in Hong Kong.
Sunshine Action will dedicate the 'food
packing day' on SAT 30-APR-2011
to the poor families
in Hong Kong in the memory of David. The target is to reach approx. 5'500
cases. These bags will be distributed
during the Mother's Day, Father's Day, Dragon-Boat Festival &
Buddha Birthday in Hong Kong and Macau.

especially welcome to United Airlines employees who would like
to volunteer their time in David's memory. For more details,
