Dragon Boat Festival - 端午節 2011

 

端午節為每年農曆五月初五，又稱端陽節、午日節、五月節、五日節、艾節、端五、重午、午日、夏節、蒲節，本來是夏季的一個驅除瘟疫的節日，後來楚國詩人屈原於端午節投江自盡，就變成紀念屈原的節日（一說紀念吳國忠臣伍子胥的忌日），與春節、中秋等節日同屬東亞文化圈的中國大陸、日本、韓國、臺灣、越南的重要傳統節日.

另外一種說法，學者聞一多指出，端午節最重要的兩項活動——競渡和吃粽子，都和龍有關（見聞一多《神話與詩》的《端午考》），可能是迎濤神祭圖騰的習俗。相傳古代中國南方吳越人（今江浙一帶）認為自己是龍的傳人，每年五月初五舉行祭圖騰儀式，以求來年風調雨順、大豐收。他們把食物裹在樹葉里或裝在竹子里，投到江裡面去。後來他們還有在這天划著獨木舟拜訪親朋好友的做法。高興時就即興舉行獨木舟賽，慢慢演變成今天過端午節這種習俗。

我們將透過徵集糧食和生活必需品，將籌得物資分發與，讓貧窮人士在全球糧食價格急升的壓力下，減輕窮困家庭的生活壓力，也希望讓他們能感受到義工們的關心和愛心

May 2009, 4 SUNSHINE ACTION volunteers and 3 members of PHAB visited 25 hidden elder peoples in Hong Kong Lamma Island delivering the Sunshine Food Bags.
